Presentation on Current Issues in EU Capital Market Law

On 3-5 February, 2003, GEPLAC offered a course of lectures regarding issues of current importance for EU Capital Markets Law to a broad audience within the framework of the University Programme and in cooperation with the Master's Programme in European Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Text of Presentation in pdf .format).

The presentations were made by Mr. Klaus Martin Loeber, Senior Legal Counsel of the European Central Bank, GEPLAC short-term expert.

The lectures were delivered in English and included the following areas:

 -EU capital markets law of the primary and secondary market;
 -EU Financial Services Action Plan and recent reform initiatives (e.g. ISD, Prospectus   Directive); 
 -The use of securities as collateral, clearing and settlement in the EU;
 -Projects for securities law reform (European Securities Code, harmonized conflicts of law rules).

GEPLAC and the Master's Programme of European Law of Tbilisi State University awarded each attendee of this course with a certificate confirming his/her participation.
